Beaches from St Somewhere!
The best part is always the beaches. Here are some memories from the beaches we visited during our cruise. I like to call it the St. Somewhere cruise as four out of six of the islands were named after a saint.
1. Jost Van Dyke (not a saint) and the Soggy Dollar Bar. The Soggy Bottom specializes in Pain Killers. Oh you'd like a margarita? Here's a Pain Killer. Mojito? You mean Pain Killer. You want a beer? Get the fuck outa here. You can even buy a Pain Killer for any friend who might have plans to be there next week or next year. How was the beach you ask? Gorgeous clear water. Warm. Gentle. Lots of boats docked around, close enough to swim into the beach. Just the type of place you want to be whilst sipping your Pain Killer. I couldfloat here forever.
2. Magens Bay, St. Thomas - I was talking to a lady and trying to explain that a Pain Killer was a drink. I didn't need a Tylenol. Very sweet gesture but not what I needed. It was loud and she was probably drunk so this conversation took longer than you might think.
3. Orient Bay, St. Maarten is within walking distance to a nude beach. Check out the swinging dicks. Don't take pictures.
4. Frigate beach, St. Kitts - don't be shy about bailing on the excursion. you can get a taxi back to the boat. It was quite authentic here. Someone tried to sell BA drugs. Well first he tried to rent her a chair, then it was drugs, then it was a night to remember or something like that. That's authenticity. She declined all offers. We did have the best food and service here. The place was run by Indians or some ethnicity that's brown and says Namaste. I'm not racist, I'm just not cosmopolitan. No matter how many I drink. Anyway, BA knows the language and told them they were awesome. We tipped big time because they were so awesome. Now, since it's BA's turn to pay, she looks like the generous one, not to mention the culturally sensitive one, they fawn over her. She gets the free beach chair and umbrella. I'm jealous.
